It buys them from local artisan fishers, and stores and transports them on its vast, efficient transport cold chain to the processing plant. At the plant the products arrive daily and are cleaned, processed, frozen, packed, and stored, ready for customer delivery. All frozen export shipments are in 20-foot or 40-foot reefer containers shipped through the port of Tanga. Weekly vessels call at the port. Sea Products Ltd. was formed in Tanga in 1996. It grew out of a family business created by Eric Allard, Vally Allard, and Frank Cuppens in 1993. In 1998 Sea Products Ltd. moved into their new and state-of-the-art seafood processing plant.
