Kim Kombo Distillery Company Limited is a small distillery and plantation located in the Gambian village of Sukuta on the Mariama Kunda 'Highway' which is just off the road that leads to the airport (signposted). We produce a selection of liqueurs extracting the juice from locally produced fruits and other fresh ingredients from the nearby market. Among our drinks are the uniquely named Coco Lemunacoomo, Kombonella, Cocolime, Chocana and Cashewo. We produce a range of quality Gambian fruit and chocolate liqueurs using home grown fruits and fresh produce from the local markets. This does make the availability of some of our liqueurs seasonal.Looking for something a bit different? Come and enjoy a relaxing time in a natural and tranquil environment. Visit Kim Kombo plantation and distillery for a free short tour and free tasting of our home made liqueurs or, new for this season, our range of solar dried fruit and solar baked cakes. For an experience to remember come to our African Evening. The plantation consists mainly of cashew trees but we also grow three different types of bananas, papaya and limes. Then there are the mango, orange, pineapple, pomegranite and star fruit trees and plants all growing with various rates of success. However the climate does not seem to be right for rhubarb or gooseberry plants. The cashew season is from around March to July. It is a most peculiar fruit growing like an apple but with one cashew nut hanging on the bottom of the fruit. If you've never seen a fruit and you are in The Gambia out of the growing season, just ask to see Eric our cashew fruit in a jar!LIQUERS1) Coco LemunacoomoCoconut, lime and banana. 20%Sweet dessert liqueur. The Kombo Farms company is a beef and dairy producer and meat processing factory which aims to produce premium quality milk produce and beef for local consumption. Their milk is produced in modern, hygienic conditions and to reduce the chances of food poisoning it is pasteurised. Their meat is handled and processed under strict hygienic conditions and is hung in chiller rooms to produce tenderness and quality. They also have a butcher's deli counter selling sirloin, rump steaks, silverside, mince and fillet steaks. Kombo Farms Limited is embarking on a dairy and beef project that started in 2005. It is to become the first established high-quality beef and milk production company in the history of the Gambia. Milk is one of the most nutritious sources of protein and energy, and yet it is out of reach of the average Gambian. Currently, all milk consumed in the Gambia is imported, save the locally, and unhygienically produced Gambian milk. Studies have shown that most of the dairy products in Africa are biologically unsafe to consume due to poor hygienic and technological standards. This project is a multi-dimensional one that has potential to affect different aspects of society.
